Blue Moose recently had the pleasure of working with West Highland Way Campsite, Scotland, to improve the campsite's footfall, brand image and online engagement. This project took place over six months, with regular visits for social engagement imagery, interviews for reels, and digital marketing resources.

We began with a marketing analysis to establish key demographic areas and conducted a social media audit of West Highland Way Campsite's existing social platforms. This audit helped the agency identify areas where the campsite could improve its reach, engagement, and social media presence.

Website Overhaul

The existing website was overhauled with new branding, imagery and content, and improved navigation. With new developments on-site ongoing, I visited regularly to update imagery and content. This ensured that visitors had current and accurate information to hand, as amenities were improved.

Digital Marketing: Social Media Management

Due to the wide range of on-site accommodations, the digital marketing strategy included varying demographic audiences to cater for. This included retired motorhome owners, young campers, couples and families, and discerning hotel customers. Social Media platforms were fully managed, resulting in an 863% increase in engagement during peak season and a 42% increase in followers to 3K.

West Highland Way Campsite was rebranded, with targeted content produced across two platforms, as well as the website. Posts and blogs included curated photos and videos of the campsite, camping information and local area insights. The campsite owner also established a secondary site location for vanlifers as part of their Trail Angel ethos.

This led to a further website for a Vanlife Community & Retreat. Digital marketing and engagement profiles included a second website, Facebook page, and Instagram account to cater for this distinct audience.

Signage Development

Blue Moose also created new signage for West Highland Way Campsite as well as a visitors welcome sheet, complete with map and site information. The signage was designed to reflect the woodland location and the history of the estate, which dates back to the 14th century.
