We were thrilled recently to partner with Bike Bute - a social enterprise on the Isle of Bute - for a recent promotional video creation project. Our excitement was, admittedly, in part, due to the fact that we are based on the island ourselves, so it was a labour of love, you might say!
Our mission? To craft a suite of engaging videos and animations - centred around Bike Bute's e-bike hire scheme - that would bring Bute's appeal to life. We focused on themes that resonate with those who explore the island – from birding enthusiasts and wildlife watchers, to heritage lovers. Visuals paired with informative storytelling aimed to capture the essence of all that's great about Bute.
Show and Tell
Of the eight videos we created, four were 'Visual Route Maps'. These followed team members as they cycled around the island to various destinations. We were also fortunate enough to be given professional wildlife shots from local and professional wildlife photographer, John Williams. The remaining videos were short whiteboard animations, promoting the benefits of hiring a Bike Bute e-bike for island trips.
Cycling up an Appetite
But that wasn't all! Everyone likes the thought of 'stopping for lunch' on a day out cycling, so we covered eateries too! From cosy cafes to award-winning restaurants, these promotional videos aimed to whet viewers' appetites and let them know what's available on Bute.
Engagement was key, and to foster a sense of community, we established a dedicated Facebook Group. This space allows visitors to share their own stories and pictures of their Bute experiences. It's a fantastic way to build a network of Bute enthusiasts and spread the word about the island's charm to an even wider audience.
Teamwork makes a Scene Work!
Working with Bike Bute on this campaign was as rewarding as it was fun. The Bike Bute team had great ideas, and it was a collaboration in the true sense - with many animated chats! Over time, the clips we were given also became more creative, enabling us to work around weather hitches.
This collaborative spirit fuelled the project's success, and the end result is a collection of videos and animations that - we hope - truly captures the magic of the Isle of Bute. So, if you're planning a trip to Bute, or would simply like a short virtual escape to a beautiful island, keep an eye out for Bike Bute's new promotional video content.
